About Us
At the Alberta Sport, Recreation, Parks and Wildlife Foundation,
we are working to make our province the best place to live, learn,
work and play.
We are dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of Albertans
by encouraging active lifestyles, promoting athletic
excellence and multi-sport games, partnering with and funding
community initiatives and fostering conservation of
natural areas.
We don't do this alone. As a non-profit Crown Corporation, we're
supported by the Alberta Lottery Fund. We also have many
partners including Alberta Tourism, Parks and Recreation, sport,
recreation and active living organizations, communities,
businesses, and thousands of volunteers.
Mission Statement
To facilitate and enhance Albertans' activities, lifestyles and
legacies through the development of active partnerships in sport,
recreation, active living, parks and wildlife programs.
Principles
- Albertans are ultimately responsible for
their personal well-being, a healthy environment, and the
stewardship of their own heritage.
- Albertans with the desire to participate
should be given the opportunity to achieve their full
potential.
- Volunteers are the cornerstone of sport,
recreation, parks and wildlife development in Alberta.
