Engaging this sector is critical, this network of partners focus on setting the stage for lifelong physical activity.
The initiatives and programs are aimed at 0-12 year olds. This sector is committed to engaging the child care providers and setting guidelines for child care settings in Alberta.
Current Initiatives:
- City of Calgary - "2012 Celebration of the Playground"
- Connected with Oxford County in ON via Colin Higgs, as he was working with them to develop a Policy similar to what is being developed in AB. Elaine, assisted them in developing and submitting their Policy Proposal which was successful so this will help them to start developing a Policy as well. This group has also submitted an order for the Hop, Skip and Jump resource.
- The next Pan AB Policy Development meeting is Feb. 28 and a draft of the policy is expected to be completed and ready to be submitted to AB Human Services - Child Care Branch & Accreditation.

Advancing CS4L:
- Championing the importance of the Active Start stage of LTAD
