Future Leaders Program
Vision
The Alberta's Future Leaders Program works in partnership with
communities and sponsors to positively affect the lives of
Aboriginal children and youth.
About Alberta's Future Leaders (AFL)
The AFL Program helps Alberta's Aboriginal youth develop life
and leadership skills. The program offers sport, recreation, the
arts and leadership development opportunities to help strengthen
and empower youth who live in First Nation and Métis
communities.
The program recruits, trains and supports Youth Workers and
ARTS mentors who provide healthy recreation opportunities for
youth. These Youth Workers and ARTS mentors:
- Implement summer sport, art and recreation
programs for youth
- Teach leadership and life skills to
youth leaders in the communities through a leadership retreat
- Are role models for Aboriginal youth
